Do I need planning permission for a Heat Pump?

In many cases, installing an Air Source Heat Pump falls under permitted development and does not require planning permission. However, there are some exceptions — particularly for listed buildings, properties in conservation areas, or homes with specific installation restrictions.

Requirements can also vary depending on the size, placement, and noise level of the system. For complete peace of mind, the EPC Improvements team can advise you on any permissions or regulations that may apply to your property before installation begins.
