While they generate some noise from their components, all heat pumps installed by EPC Improvements are MCS Certified, ensuring a maximum noise level of 45 decibels at 1 metre—quieter than a typical fridge and comparable to the sound of rustling leaves. Where Does the Heat Pump Get Installed?
Your heat pump will be installed outside your property, typically at the side or rear to maintain your home’s aesthetic appeal. It will be placed on a sturdy, level surface such as a concrete base to ensure stability and optimal performance. For efficiency and regulatory compliance, the heat pump must also have sufficient airflow and be located at least 1 metre away from any property boundary.
Do I Need Planning Permission for a Heat Pump?
In most cases, installing an Air Source Heat Pump does not require planning permission, as it is considered permitted development under UK regulations.
