The Tesla Powerwall 3 introduces several innovative features that set it apart from its predecessor, the Powerwall 2. The most notable upgrade is the integrated solar inverter, which allows for direct DC coupling with solar panels. This advancement significantly enhances the system's efficiency.

By connecting solar panels directly to the Powerwall 3, the generated electricity is stored in the battery before being converted to AC power when needed in the home. This direct feed reduces the number of conversions required, thereby improving the overall storage efficiency from 90% to an impressive 97.5%. Consequently, homeowners can utilise more of the energy they generate, maximizing their savings and energy independence.
